THANK YOU
We would not be able to do what we do without the support of our sponsors and partners. Their generosity and belief in our mission make it possible for us to connect, empower, and champion MedTech innovators across Western Canada.
We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership and commitment to advancing the medical technology community.
Meet our Volunteers

Sogand Golshahian
Sogand Golshahian earned her BASc in biomedical engineering at UBC and is now a master's student in the same field. She focuses on immune profiling of chronic diseases, with her research spanning blood-based immune biomarkers in Parkinson's and Chagas disease using multi-omic integration. She also loves teaching, mentorship, outreach, and organizing events. Outside of work, you'll usually find her chasing good music and good food.

Dawson Jarvis
MASc research student in biomedical engineering at the University of British Columbia, currently investigating a screening protocol for novel tumour antigens to better personalize cancer treatments. Obtained a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Victoria studying the impacts of bacteria on Influenza A virus co-infections. Actively interested in learning more about the growing MedTech industry and potential overlaps with Biotechnology.

Ruth Yu
Ruth is a second-year Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on developing spatial genomic tools to investigate genetic drivers of urologic cancers and their impact on treatment efficacy. Outside the lab, Ruth is interested in the medtech ecosystem, particularly the adoption and translation of biomedical technologies into healthcare. She is also passionate about mentoring and supporting younger students to explore opportunities in STEM.
